Joe could not finish better than 20th racing, but, he qualified 18th in the super and Joe 10th fast in the modified

both cars made the feature , Robert Ewing driving Dennis`s car this weekend pulled off after 50 laps and Joe at 65 laps, Robert felt that the " SRL" touring cars were too fast for the all supers and could not finish better than 8th thru 12th in the field, so, at one point both drivers felt like they were getting in the way of the touring cars and Robert did not want to damage dennis`s car or get wrecked so he pulled off, Joe on the other hand wanted to finish all 150 laps he was still very fast at the 60 lap in the super late car, but, the engine oil light came on at lap 65 and he elected to pull off rather than potentially damage an engine. Still, overall it was a great night,, with minor hood and ft cover damage to Joes car and Not a scratch on dennis`s car,

7 of the top 10 were tour cars , and 14 of the top 26 listed below were tour cars, they will not be invited back for 2012 SUPER LATE MODEL race track says

InfernoMotorsports welcomes a  new bouncing
baby Modified to the family of Super late models.
Chuck and Joe spent weeks waiting for the final
moment when the new baby modified fired up
screaming for the first time from it`s loud pipes "and it
did not even need a spanking."
Joe and I worked on my new purchase for weeks
and finally tested last friday night.
We will be running in the touring division called
lucas oil modified series http://www.lucasoilmodifieds.com/
All went well, the new car did not crap it`s  oil pan
or pee on the track so were happy.
Joe ran the car at a comfortable pace on the 1st
practice session and got after it a little on the 2nd session.
With the car working and testing at 95% the 2 sessions
were enought to satisfy both Joe and I for the night.

On another note ; The super late models are parked
until further notice, as  I said on the previous blog
we can not run at Irwindale Speedway with these
cars and be able to  run up front with the the 4bbl
carburetor while we are stuck running a 2bbl carb.
So, we showed up at Irwindale Speedway with
a 4bbl carb on our   non spec engine and we were
told that it was not allowed to run .. take it home!
Until the track changes it`s rules to allow all the 2 bbl
cars out there to run the 4bbl carbs we will   just have
to play with the new modified.
Dennis will be moving to Arizona next year and
is looking to go dirt Modified racing at the local dirt
track, so, we may be running both pavement mods
and dirt mods next year.

LUCAS OIL SLICK MIST SLM 75: The 17-car field
had a ten-car inverted start with fastest qualifier
Rod Johnson, Jr starting outside row five and Joe Deguevara
on the pole after qualifing 10th.
Joe and Dennis qualified back to back 10 th and 11 th
thats all these 2 barrel carb cars have, we are up against 4 barrel cars.
Both drivers did a great job driving and both cars had different
problems by the end of the 75 lap race, Joe had a very tight car
and it would not turn in the center of the corner and Dennis had the
opposite problem and his car was loose in the center and turned
too fast, with 2 races done so far were beginning to figure out
what these cars like and dont like, we will get better with more
races run.
The InfernoMotorsports cars are the fastest of all the 2 barrel cars
running at the speedway with the top 9 cars all on 4 barrel carbs.
We have asked the track to give all the 2 barrel cars an additional
weight break since we can not compete with the bigger carburetors.
we will see what happens with that request.

Thompson gradually increased his lead to 20-yards (1.231 seconds)
at the finish. Partridge held on to his "handful" Eshleman
Racing No. 33 for second place. Jason Patison finished third, 1.403
back. Race Liberante, was fourth, 1.617 seconds behind the winner.
Furden placed fifth, 7,825 back. Joe DeGuevara 8.125, back.

Over all both cars came home with no damage, both cars just need
service and we will be back racing june 4th

InfernoMotorsports team got the 2011 racing season at
Irwindale Speedway off on the right foot.
Joe and Dennis finally got there chance to race the cars
purchased in 2010.
The weekend started off with 2 very good cars , both cars
practiced well, both cars handled well and the set up
was well balanced.
Both Dennis and Joe qualified in the top 10 and started the
main event side by side.
Joe had his car taped off for qualifing and caused the car
to bottom out costing him at least 2 tenths , that 2 tenths
would have made him 2nd fast time.
Dennis qualified with the fastest laps he has ever run
in 11 years. Dennis was very happy!!
The race was 75 laps on the very fast 1/2 mile oval,
Both Dennis and Joe charged on the green flag, Dennis fell in
behind Joe and they ran nose to tail for 25 laps passing
cars from their 9th &10th starting spots.
Joe recieved minor damage when 2 cars ahead of him got
together and collected Joe, that caused a steering issue
knocking the toe out and punching a hole
in the fender, both of these conditions caused the car to
not handle or turn as well as it was early in the event.
Dennis had his car get loose and he hit the wall with the back
of the car damaging the body and both rt side wheels.
Dennis pitted and Tim and David checked him over and sent
Dennis back out.
Joe continued to charge thru the field and by the time the
checkered flag flew Joe was up to 4th and Dennis finished
10th.
The next race for us at Irwindale will be May 7th ,
I am One Happy Dad!!!.

InfernoMotorsports was looking forward to racing as

many races at our Las Vegas short track as funding

permitted in 2011.

We brought out a new car for 2011 after 2 years of

rebuilding inventory and another chassis from the fire

and crash in 2009.

During the first race 30 laps in while Joe was passing

another car the other driver decided to make a left

turn into the rt rear wheel ( still dont know why)

breaking the rt rear suspension arm and causing our

car to make a sudden left turn into the inside crash

wall.

Joe struck the inside wall at full speed and again damaging

the car beyond repairs.

Once again Infernomotorsports will be out for a while at

Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

On a better note, We still have another car scheduled for

racing april 9th at Irwindale Speedway and plan to run

the entire 10 race schedule thanks to Dennis Scharlbaum,

Horn Industries, MIM and Titan.

California Racing news

InfernoMotorsports traveled to Irwindale Speedway over the
Thanksgiving weekend with both cars in tow.
Joe, Tom ,Scott and I arrived Friday for practice that took place
from 6pm to 10pm.
Joe took to the track and the car was too tight to turn in the
corners ( the car would not turn as sharp as we wanted) so,
Joe came in for adjustments and we sent the car back out
with the car a little bettter, Joe came back in we
Parked the car we looked the car over real well and made more
changes, sent Joe back out and Joe said the car was a thousand
times better than before.
Joe still said the car is tight in the very center of the corner
but better everywhere else,
We tried and tried everthing we knew to correct this condition
to no avail.
Saturday a.m: After sleeping on the problem we tried
another change on the rear end housing angle, Joe said the
car was perfect for about 3 laps then it would go tight again,
at this point it was time to qualify the car so we had
what we had.
Joe qualified 17th out of 20 and all the cars
were impounded after qulalifing, so, we could not adjust or
work on the car anylonger.
The car had to be raced the way it was.
The race started and Joe passed cars up to 12th place, the
race had lots of cautions, Then Joe got caught up in someone
elses wreck around lap 37 of the 100 lap event.
Joe had to pit to remove the hood, the air cleaner, tape up the
car to keep the parts from flying off, Joe came back on the
track 7 laps down, We made 2 of the laps when more cautions
fell for more crashes.
With 30 laps to go I told Joe to hang in there the rest of the
remaining cars were getting really wild and sure enough they
started to crash each other, car after car had engines blow up,
ran out of fuel, or crashed , by the time we had10 laps left there
were only 8 cars left running out of the 20, With 5 to go
more cars had engine trouble or ran out of gas, with 2 to go
the leaders took each other out , that left 3 cars running at the end,
3rd place, 4th place and Joe in 5th place, needless to say
our race turned into a endurance race. We finished 5th.
5 laps down. Still had fun!!!
Joe and I have work to get done body parts to replace, overall I hope
Joe had as much fun as I had watching and playing with our car.

Race at Irwindale Speedway

The InfernoMotorsports, Sudden Impact auto body Monte Carlo will be
racing at Irwindale Speedway Thanksgiving weekend.
The team will be loading up and taking both cars so we have a
back up car to assure exposure for our sponsors just in
case anything goes wrong with the primary car.

Racing news!

InfernoMotorsports has been racing a very limted 2009, 2010 schedule, Joe and I have
been rebuilding cars , engines and overall recooping from our 2008 crash and fire.
Joe and I ran a couple of races with the latemodel then parked that car since it
was not competive in the superlate model division here in Las Vegas.
That car is for sale.
Then in mid 2009 we purchased a superlate model car from Dennis and worked
on buying parts, engines and pieces for the rest of the year 2009 and ran once.
Fast foreward to 2010
Joe and I went out with the new car and found disaster when Joe backed the car
into the fence mid summer, so, off to the chassis builder to have the back of the car
replaced.... another set back in funding and racing at mid year.
Joe and I got the car back and have spent the last couple of months replacing
everything on the back of the car that was damaged that the chassis builder
does not do, rear body section, both rear shocks, straighten the rear end housing,
replace the fuel cell, replace and repair the interior tin and so on.
Well, look at us today.. we have 2 complete superlate models both cars came from
Dennis at MIM construction .. Thank you Dennis!
InfernoMotorsports will be racing at Irwindale Speedway both the Thanksgiving weekend
and again at the Toyota shootout in January 2011. Come out and see us in California!

InfernoMotorsports finally hit the track last weekend

for the first time in 2010.

Joe & I worked on the car until we could not go

any longer and went home late into the night.

Joe worked on the car until 1:30 am one day and

midnight the next night. Joe worked hard for days to

get to race a double header fathers day race weekend.

Finally after fabrication work, building new oil and cooling

lines, linkages and wiring.

We wanted to practice Friday night but we could not get

the car done, we started again on Saturday morning ,

by 3 pm Saturday we still had not had the car 100%

completed, Joe jumped into the car and drove it

to the speedway right down Las Vegas blvd to the track

to make it to have the car presented at tech.

We took the car out on the track and Joe said the car was

too loose to get up to speed, this was our only practice session

prior to the first feature event of the night.

Joe started last in a field of 16 cars and stayed back about

15 lenghts behind the entire field so we could use this for a

practice session, the car was better but not good enough.
Joe stayed up with the field of cars until lap 5 when we

developed a miss in the engine, Joe pulled into the infield

and then pulled off the track for Tim, Cody and I to diagnose

the problem.

We felt this may have been a battery issue so we replaced the

battery and sent Joe out for the 2nd feature of the night,

5 laps later the same thing happened and we parked the car

for the night.

We will find the problem since we have 2 weeks to correct

it and try again.

I know it`s been a long time since I have posted
any news, so, here's whats going on at InfernoMotorsports.
We have been waiting on engines to be completed along
with funding to go racing, InfernoMotorsports has received
very limited funding from our sponsors, the economy has
definitely hurt our racing and local business.

2010 season

Hi Everyone, I have not posted any news for a while since
I did not have any news to report .
Today I have meeting with one of our sponsors who says
he is onboard for the year again... (good news for us!!)
In racing and car news the new engine was installed, the
engine is broken in and the car is 98 % ready, we have to
put the car on the scales, run the drive train until it`s heated
up and then change all the oils, check for leaks and GO TEST!.
YEA!! testing for us will be next sunday 3/14 and opening day
Saturday 3/20.
The track changed tires AGAIN on the entire super late
division , we will now have to throw away all the tires we had
last year and buy all new tires at 650.00 per set , the new tires
are softer and faster than last years and if you dont know what
softer tires do here is the good and the bad news.
Softer tires on the good side means :
1. faster speed
2. bettter car control and grip
3. better side by side racing

The bad news is:
1. The tires wear out faster
2. We have to buy tires more often ( like every race)
3. Faster cars means harder wrecking.
4. Its harder on the engines and drive lines
5. More expense over all

The tires will only help the speedway sell more tires
and help their bottom line at the expense of all the
race teams.

2010 season

Hi Everyone , InfernoMotorsports will not make the All Star race
at Irwindale Speedway at the end of this month.
InfernoMotorsports had a engine failure in the upper cam area
causing debris to enter all the chambers and oil channels.
This engine damage was found after prepairing the car for the
All Star race trying to set the valves and a visual inspection
of the engine.
InfernoMotorsports is currently seeking sponsors for 2010
race season , but, with funding low and not enough time to have
the engine repaired in a rush , InfernoMotorsports will now
prepair for opening day here in las Vegas.

InfernoMotorsports arrived Friday a.m. at Havasu

Raceway, Joe was the first car on the track

for testing at 11:00 in the morning, by 11:15 we

had a wrecked race car.

Joe spun off turn 4 trying to get a feel for what we

needed for grip.

Joe spun in the dirt infield where there were 55 gallon

water barrels set up for a different class to be used

as a road course.

Joe hit the barrels so hard that it blew the side of the

car clean off, bent the rt rear wheel, shoved the

rear suspension out the driver side of the car , bent

the rear frame, interior sheet metal and mounting

braces for the suspension.

After a long diagnosis I decided I would get this fixed ,

We borrowed a tow truck and pick up and pulled and square

the rear of the car , cut off the bent pieces and straightend them,

and rear welded them back on the car, got the spare parts out

and replaced the bent lower arms.

By 3:30 pm I had Joe back in the car for some shake down

laps.

The car looked good on the track , it was driving straight and

true, Joe brought the car up to speed and took it as fast as

it would run on this track.

Joe was suffering from a headache and vision and neck ache

from hitting his head sideways into the head support.

Saturday we arrived unloaded the car, practiced the car

but Joe was still suffering effects and did not tell me anything

until after qualifing the car and running our heat race, that's

when Joe told me he can not drive this car safely today, so, I suited

up for the main event to drive my own car, the main event

was scheduled for 75 laps, ( no problem right? ) well, let me tell

you, that was the longest 75 laps ever!!!

The race started and went a few laps, then caution flag after

caution flag flew. Driving slow laps under caution seemed forever,

then the rain came, more caution laps with all the cars trying to

dry the track, ( like 50? laps) finally the track allowed eveyone to

pull off for fuel.

I stayed in the car since it was easier to stay in this cockpit

than get out and back in this small space.

Now at this point I had been in the car for more then a hour,

finally the track was dry enough to go racing again.

Another hour of racing , yellow flags and racing again

resulted in a 14th place finish for the old man, not bad !!

I have some proper repairs that need to be done and some

body panels that need to be changed but overall not a bad

weekend!

Racing Thanksgiving

Hi everyone, InfernoMotorsports will be racing Thanksgiving weekend
with a test and tune on friday the 27th and racing on Saturday afternoon
the 28th. Racing starts at 2pm
InfernoMotorsports will be in Lake Havasu City Arizona at Havasu
Raceway on the small 1/4 mile oval.
This track is very slick and has minimum grip this requires lots of
driving skill to keep from sliding out in the corners.
Joe is out of town this week in Colorado for work while I get the car
race ready this weekend, this should be lots of fun for Joe to drive.
The next race is scheduled for Irwindale Speedway in Januray,
this will be the televised all star shoot out on Speed channel.

Final race of 2009

The 2009 racing season has come to an end.
The InfernoMotorsports team is happy to see this
year end and is looking forward to 2010.
InfernoMotorsports will be building a new open
wheel modified to race the Super clean modified
series, this series is a touring series that includes
races in California, Arizona and Nevada.
The Super clean series will have all 12 races shown
on the Speed channel (tape delayed).
The InfernoMotorsports team will run the Modified
and the late model on races when both classes are
racing at the same event.
Our team raced the final race last night with Joe
finishing 10th in our late model while running
in the super late model class. (Not bad).
Stay tuned for winter updates and I may even
run a couple of winter races in my car myself!
Yep! you heard it here, I said, I may get back
behind the wheel.

This was the first night of the henderson car show, we had the car parked from 3 to 8 at green valley district, did a lot of promotion for our sponsors! Will update more on sunday about being at the car show all day Friday and Saturday in downtown henderson!

we are currently preparing for Irwindale speedway
Oct 2nd and 3rd.
A new engine has been ready for California
with no oil leaks.

Mark your calendars for the car show Sept. 24th thru 27th
The racecar will be in Henderson NV for the super run
car show. This is a fun filled event with lots to see and do!!

Then we will be running in California Oct. 3rd at Irwindale.
After that race we will get the car ready for the
fall classic the 1st week of November here in Vegas.

Then we get December off and get ready for the big race
in January, The Toyota all star race back in California.

racing saturday night

InfernoMotorsports took the new car out for a
shake down run friday and saturday here in vegas.
We started the main event and about 15 laps
into the race a simple 2 cent wire connector
broke that shut off the engine, Joe coasted
into the infield and our race night was over.
It`s just new car blues.!
We will be back on top again

The engine was taken back to the engine builder and
taken apart, only to discover a part that was not
supposed to go back on this engine was installed.
The engine shop has installed a new correct part.

The engine will be put back together today, Joe and I
will reinstall the engine and trans by Saturday and get
the car ready for a car show this weekend.
Our next race will back in las vegas (home of the big
wreck) August 15th.
InfernoMotorsports will be back at Irwindale speedway
near the end of the month.

Weekend results

Well, Not all went as planned this weekend in California. Joe and I traveled to Irwindale speedway for what we
hoped would have been a exciting weekend of racing the
new car.
We arrived Thursday night (Friday A. M.) at 1:30 am
ready to test and tune friday afternoon and evening, only
to discover an oil leak once we went on the track for our
first practice session.
The oil was at the rear of the engine and would
have made an oil rigger happy with the amount of oil
gushing from the rear main and oil pan.
So, Joe went under the car to locate the source of the
leak and check the oil pan bolts to be sure they were tight
and disovered a bolt was broken off in the engine block
during assembly and was covered up with sealer to
make it look like the bolt was properly installed.
I patched it the best I could with additional sealer and we
were able to run 3 lap sessions and had to bring the car in.
Friday night I tried to patch the leak better after the engine
oil pan cooled off, then saturday a.m. I pulled the transmission,
bell housing, clutches, flywheel and tried even harder to get
everything sealed so we could race saturday night.
After the track opened for the first practice saturday we went
on the track to find that our gusher was down to a fast drip,
We spoke to the race officals and they agreed to let us start
at the rear of the field and start the race to collect last place
money.
Needless to say I will be speaking to the the engine shop
by the time most of you read this monday a.m
It turned out to be a very expensive road trip.

Hi Everyone, Infernomotorsports is just days away from
going racing again, after 2 months of spending money,
gathering parts and working with friends and sponsors
it is finally coming together.
InfernoMotorsports will be in Irwindale California
July 25th and 26th for testing and racing.
We are waiting on 3 parts to come in monday, the car
should be completed on tuesday, go to the chassis dyno
wednesday and loaded in the trailer to go Thursday.

The InfernoMotorsports team was unable to make the
July 4th race at Irwindale Speedway.
The parts were ordered too late to have the new car
put back together.
Infernomotorsports is still short about a half dozen
major parts. All the parts are on order so, we afre now

Information update

Hello everyone,
Well, all we have been doing lately is buying parts
spending money and trying to get everything we need
to go racing again. Joe has been working at the
shop while we continue to collect parts and pieces.
The InfernoMotorsports guys are prepairing the
Irwindale latemodel and it is expected to be
completed by the 1st part of July, we are trying
to make the July 4th race in California.
The engine has been finished, the transmission
parts arrived yesterday, the new rear suspension
will be done thursday.
Everything is coming together slowly but surely.
Again a BIG thanks to Dennis for the car!!

Really great news

InferoMotorsports has taken possession of
the latest race car. Joe and I went to California
this weekend and picked up our 2007 Racecar factory
ford fusion, the car is a full rolling chassis,
but with no transmission, or gear, it also needs
some plumbing, overall we could not be happier with
what we have received. The car was provided by
Dennis Schlarbaum, Dennis is the driver that I
worked with back when I was the
spotter and crew chief from 1999 to 2002 at
Irwindale speedway.
Dennis also provided us with an engine for our car.
I need everyone who reads this to understand this
was above and beyond anything we expected and puts
InfernoMotorsports back on the race track in 2009.
InfernoMotorsports expects to have this car completed and
on track sometime next month.
Joe`s toe is healing fine and will get his doctors release
next week, the bruising on his arch is better.
I do not have anyway to THANK DENNIS ENOUGH!!
To all of my readers I want you to know that Dennis
reads and follows Joes progress.

InfernoMotorsports team is hoping to get back
on track for the fathers day double header. If
all goes as planned we hope to have another car
very soon.
Joe is looking forward to getting back behind

This weekend Joe and I are headed to Irwindale
Speedway in California to work with Dennis on
his super latemodel.
Since we can not drive our own car we are always
willing to help friends.

Joe called last night after going to the doctor
upon demand from Amy (his wife) to find out he
has the large toe on his left foot broken and
has been sent todsay to a foot specialist for a
potential broken arch.
Joe has to wear the flat boot that the doctor
provided and crutches until further notice

It was one of the scariest moments I have had with Joe as my driver.. Joe was the orange car that struck the black car and and caught fire ... as of today we have no race car no engine, no transmission, nothing , everything on the underside of the car , everything inside the car and under the skin was melted , the fuel cell burned , all the belts , all the wires , everything!!! ........ I have spoke to a very dear friend today and have been offered one of his cars for the year so, we will be back it may just take a few weeks to get back on the track, Joe must send back his helmet to bell helmets and get it re- certified, send back his head and neck support device to get re- certified, get the new engine we just put in Friday checked for damage and a new seat.
This impact was so severe that the racing seat split at the mounting holes along the upper portion but remained in tact along the lower floor mounting portion.
Joe is fine , he has a sever bruise on his left foot, bruised inside his left arm and no burns.

Infernomotorsports tested friday night to scrub in a
new set of tires and Joe was very happy with the
overall balance and speed of the car.
Saturday the car did not perform as well and the
car did not have the speed from friday to saturday.
The car was 17th fast of 24 cars, " the worst starting
position of the season"
the engine showed no signs of issues, all the guages
showed no signs of issues.
we started the main event with fuel issues that caused
us to pit and went 2 laps down , Joe returned to the
track and drove the car as fast as it would go, then
with 2 laps left the car back fired and shut off , Joe
thought the car broke the cam shaft .
We looked at the car once the car was back at the
trailer and it turned out to be the Ignition box
that failed , this may have been the reason the car
did not perform qualifing or in then race.
On a happier note: We had one of our sponsors
show up to the track , Andre from Charlies Janitoral
Service along with another potential sponsor Martin, both
had a good time even if the car did not perform as usual.
InfernoMotorsports may have some good sponsor news
for everyone next week after my meeting with martin.

Jimmy Parker Jr. was declared the winner of Saturday's MetroPCS Super Late Model feature after apparent victor Taylor Barton was disqualifed after his car failed to pass post-race technical inspection. Robert Ewing was moved up to second place and Chris Bray was awarded third place Joe Deguevara was forth.

The InfernoMotorsports team combined with
Phils PHabrication (Chris Bray)
qualified 8th and 9th respectivly.
Joe, Tim and I tested friday night after the
wreck last race to determine what our balance
is and to see if the car would stay consistent
thru an entire green flag run.
Joe was pleased with the car and only asked for
2 minor changes friday night, we put the car
away after the changes for Saturdays race.

Saturday: We went out for the first and only
test session just to shake down the car and
be sure everthing was secure, check for leaks
and adjust for qualifing in the heat of the
Las Vegas desert.
We qualified 8th fast and normally the top 8
make the trophy dash , except this week they
only took the top 6.(that was a bummer)
Joe started the Sudden Impact auto body,
Pirates cove, Charlies Janitoral service car
8th, Joe drove up 3 spots to 5th during the
40 lap feature and was on the rear bumper
of the 4th place car at the checkerd flag.

Race #2 completed!

The InfernoMotorsports team did not have the best
race weekend, Joe and the guys at Phils PHabrication
shop finally installed the new shocks and we felt ready
to race hard.
Joe took the car out for the 1st practice session and
came back and said the car was great entering the
corner and a little tight in the center of the corner causing
a loose condition off the corner.
We made a wedge adjustment and had to wait for the
next practice session when Joe noticed fluid under the car.
I took the right front wheel off the car only to discover
the the brake caliper was leaking, we looked for a
replacement part in our trailer only to come up empty.
Joe went to the track supplier and purchased another
caliper, we pulled the old one, installed the new one,
but missed the 2nd practice session.
We did not know if the change we made was enough
now that we did not get to practice.
Next was qualifing, with no practice we just had to go
with what we had.
Joe was the 4th group out for qualifing only to have the
car directly in front of us start leaking oil during our run,
Joe was sideways and loose all the way around the track.
We still did not know if the change was enough since we
were in the oil... oh well we will have to live with a 13 th
starting spot.
Main event time finally rolled around and were looking
forward to a long green flag run when the car to our rear
decided he wanted our spot worse than we did, so, he
punted us like a football out of the way caused us to spin
and if that was not bad enough he came along and hit the
front of our car too while passing by, needless to say that
front end damage caused the entire front body to get
pushed over and rubbed the body on the tire.
Jim O`Hanley from O`Hanleys 9 inch rear ends tried to
get the body off the tire with out success , we called it a
night and took the car back to the trailer, it took a cutting
torch to get the inner structure straight enough to get
the car home.
The car will be repaired at Phils PHabrication and will be
better than new for the next race in 2 weeks.
Just one of those nights!!

With daytime temperatures in the 70s and a constant breeze, it was a beautiful day to open the 2009 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Saturday night's main event was a 100-lap feature for the MetroPCS Super Late Models.

The InfernoMotorsports team started 15th in the 24 car field, Joe waited for the field to get single file and started driving past the cars ahead, the field was slowed by 6 caution flags during the 100 lap race.
Joe was running in the top 10 by the half way point of the race and 8th by the 75 lap mark, Then, with Joe trying hard to catch the 7th place car he spun coming off turn 2 with 17 laps to go.
The race restared with 15 laps left after Joe was sent to the rear of the field,
Joe came on the radio and said " sorry dad the driver just ran out of talent"
so, my response was " then drive it like you just stole it from me" and Joe did!
With 20 cars left running Joe drove from 20th to 12th in the final 15 laps.
Great driving job Joe!!
The next race is in 2 weeks.

2009 season start!

This saturday the 2009 season gets underway
for the InfernoMotorsports team.
The team tested this past weekend since the
race track eliminated the Late model class
and forced everyone to compete in the super
late model class, Our car was about 2/10th
of a second off the fastest time.
The InfernoMotorsports team has teamed up
with Chris Bray and recieved product support
from Lucas oil products, Phils phabrication,
Norris bodies.

Mother nature wins at Irwindale

Mother nature controlled the checkered flags
at Irwindale Speedway this weekend.
The InfernoMotorsports team arrived at 4:45 p.m.
Thursday and checked in for the All Star shootout.
The team woke up to rain and more rain friday a.m.
and was told to be at the driver/ crew meeting at
8:00 a.m then have the car ready for tech inspection
right after.
The car went through tech with only a couple of minor
things to correct.
The skys cleared and the track was drying when the
speedway called for practice around mid day, while
waiting for our turn on the track the skys darkened
and the mist started falling, but, with so many cars
on the track the surface was still dry enough to stay
fast, we planned to run the car for the whole session
when someone lost a piece of metal and Joe ran it over.
The metal punched a hold the size of a large mans fist
through the rt rear tire, Joe spun the car going into
turn 1 to keep it from slamming the fence.
Practice was over for us, so much for running the whole
session. We got 10 laps in.
O.K. .. let`s wait for qualifing, that will be another
chance to make any final changes for the feature event.
Mother nature had other plans ... qualifing was rained
out,so,nascar says the line up was the top 40 cars based
on the pill draw..... Joe pulls the 41st starting spot!!
Holly crap I said!! We dont get to race? the local track
champion draws spot # 42 ... the champ dont get to race?
Nascar decides to allow every team that showed up to
race... Thank you Jesus.
OK, it`s finally race day and the skys are not leaking
for the whole day, Nascar says all 4 divisions will
run on today and time will be the issue, our race started
at 10:55 pm and was scheduled for 40 minutes or 75 laps,
we started 41st and planned to wait out he 1st half of the
race and keep out of any potential wrecks, but, there were
just too may cautions and the time limit ran out,the race
only lasted 40 something laps we finished 26th.
We will go back next year if the late models get called
back again, it was long.. it was expensive...
we were wet... we were cold... we loved it!!

Road Trip

The InfernoMotorsports team is setting off to California
for the Toyota all star shoot out live on speed channel.
Joe and I will present our late model and hope to get
approved for racing the #9 car Saturday night on Speed
channel.... live at 7 pm.
InfernoMotorsports #9 car is 50% super late model and
50% late model based on the rules allowed at our home
track here in Las Vegas.
We hope that the race officals at Irwindale speedway
dont bump our car up to run as a super late model,
since this will hurt our chances of winning the feature
event.
The super late race will also be live on Speed channel at
7 pm friday night.

Havasu track

Well, on a more serious side of racing at Havasu Joe and I
must tell you all that other drivers and owners were the
nicest people you would ever want to race with.
Joe had people that he did not know just stop him, say hi
chat for a while, tell him how glad they were to have us
show up and shake our hands.
Bill the promoter came over to our pits shook our hands
said thank you for coming and please come back.
They were truly glad to have everyone that came and
raced.
That kind of hospitality and friendly attatude is just not
found here in vegas, so, event though the track is in
poor condition the people made up for it!!.

Racing in Havasu

Ok!!!! let`s start by saying.. OH MY GOD!!! and continue
with how our weekend outing went this weekend at
Havasu 95 speedway ( dont know why it`s called speedway)
I decided to go racing this weekend since Joe and I were
both off Friday afternoon and Saturday.
We went to the facility (can not call it a race track!!) friday
and arrived in time to test, buy 4 tires and fuel at a cost
of about "1 million dollars" plus 8.89 % sales tax
for the solid gold 2040 hooiser tires.
(they had to be made of gold for the price) or just the
high demand for the tires, since they only had about 6 in
stock.
The track had a night time test session that was lit by 3
or maybe 4 flash lights, the track surface is asphalt "under"
river rocks and sea shells that covers the surface, banking
that looks like it`s going off camber followed by cracks in
the asphalt that could swallow my grandson whole.

Joe went onto the track for the 1st of about a dozen test
sessions only to try to find the corners and the track exit
that they should have put a offical with a 5th flashlight
to giude you to the pits like a airplane pilot arriving at
the gate. Joe could not find the headlight switch in the car
so we practiced by moonlight.
(I was going to tape a flashlight to the hood)

Joe goes onto the track and out comes the green glag (oh i
mean the green flashlight) and Joe hammers the throttle
and smokes the rear tires like JOHN fORCE in his funny
car... ahhh... no grip dad, says Joe on the radio, while trying to
find the corner thru the smoke in the drivers compartment
Joe starts driving the car much slower , like half throttle!!
still not grip says Joe , ahh.. how bout you hop out and push
it I tell Joe, thats how slick the surface is at this speedway.
we finished practice that night and gained nothing for speed
and hoped for sunlight and better grip saturday when the track
surface got some heat on it.
Saturday brings hope for speed and grip, oh please let there
be grip.... not a chance!! it`s just like driving on ice.
Pat peitre and I are standing on the spotters stand and we
looked at each other and laughed that the cars looked like
they were going in slow motion. We swear we could run faster.
We had 13 late models at the track and qualified 8th sideways
all the way around the track.
Joe started the main event inside row 4 and held own and
moving up to 5th for the 35 lap race. While they had cautions
for a number of spin outs ( not surprised) Joe was doing well
racing at just above a fast idle speed, when lap 34 of the 35
lap race went under the flag stand, the flag man failed to wave
the white flag, then on lap 35 of 35 NO CHECKERD FLAG
waved, then on lap 36 the 2nd place car spun and a caution
came out, eveyone thought we missed the flag and confusion
became the topic, while scratching my head, I asked the
track promoter who was standing next to me in the spotter
area, Is the race over??? were on lap 36 ... he said no to
everyone and everone was saying it`s lap 36 of a 35 lap race.
The promoter said we were going to have a green white
chekered finish.
This is where the bad news come in to this message!!
Everything on the car was perfect on lap 35 of 35 laps
we were should have finished in 5th but, it`s a green,
white, checkered because the flag man missed doing his job,
lap 37 restart and Joe gets shoved into a wreck that
happened ahead of him damaging the car.
Had the starter did his job we would have come home with
out a scratch on the car.
Here is what the car looks like from a wreck on lap 37 of
a 35 lap race.. you do the math .. the starter can`t.
We finished 7th after 39 laps.
uhh... stay tuned we may do that again just to punish
ourselfs for going the 1st time and use up the 1 million
dollar tires.

winter series racing

Well, with the winter setting in and Santa just around the
corner, InfernoMotorsports will be racing a couple of winter
races at Havasu raceway and Blyth raceway this winter.
The new year brings hope that our Sponsors and friends
will be back on board for the 2009 season.
InfornoMotorsports is looking forward to the addition of
2 new sponsors for 2009, along with expanding on
marketing for our sponsors, additional car shows and
product give aways.
The race car is currently in her crib wraped in her blanket,
taking a nap, before Joe and I wake her up for winter laps.
I must say the fall classic was fun this year, except for some
minor problems, it was very fun.
I am very proud of Joe`s driving all season, we were glad to
see Dan, his wife and son and family from R.C racing decals
in our pits at the fall classic, we really enjoy their company.
After the fall classic we stayed until midnight , Joe signed
autographs, we gave away t-shirts, key chains, head socks,
and business cards from our sponsors, we are looking
forward to more fun in 2009.

Really good racing

Well.... Do you really want to know how we did?
Read on!! after testing last saturday all day, the
InfernoMotorsports team arrived on Wednesday night
for tech inspection and practice, all seemed well when we
practiced in the 15.7 second second range on wednesday.
Thursdays test session found the car slowing by about
2 tenth of a second... this is not a good thing, We
checked over the entire car and found no reason for the
decrease in speed, but we were still concerned headed into
fridays qualifying session.
After arriving friday as soon as the gates opened and going
over the car, we still found nothing that we could see causing
problem, Joe went back onto the track and the car began to
shake and was causing a loss of traction and speed. Joe
came off the track saying it felt like the rear tires
were coming off the ground under acclleration.
The InfernoMotorsports team, Myself, Joe, Nate, Tim and
Cody took all of the rear drive line out of the car Friday
and inspected every part and found "NOTHING" broken or
damaged, we even had the rear gear supplier looking at his
gears to see of it was coming apart or had broken , still
nothing.
I spoke to Mario at Performance Plus and he
recomended that we bring the drive shaft to him and he would
take it to his sponsors drive line company and have the drive
shaft rebalanced, we found out later after reinstalling the entire
drive line and going back on to the track for practice, we
still had the same problem.
With the entire team confused and not knowing what was
wrong we went ahead and qualified the car as is and could
only qualify a 15.84 second lap that was only good for 13th
and only the top 16 were garanteed a starting spot for the
75 lap race.
We also had to run the car that same night in the heat race
for our starting spot in the main event with the same vibration.
We could not improve our starting spot so, we will start 13th.
After the heat race Joe came in saying he now felt the vibration
was in the clutches and not in the rear drive line, so, all of us
went back to work Friday night and took out the drive line,
transmission, bellhousing and all of the clutches, went to
the parts supplier and they only had the clutch discs but
no clutch plates, we called the supplier and had them bring us
new plates Saturday a.m.
After the plates arrived we all worked our butts off reinstalling
everything so we could get on the track for some shake down
laps, O.K, all done and Joes on the track in the heat of the day
and runs a 15.7 second lap ... really fast for the heat of the day,
well?, I asked Joe on the radio, "no vibration dad" finally
after 2 days of, changing tires , shocks, springs, bar angles and
banging and banging my head on the side of my trailer... it`s fixed.
We raced 75 laps and have only 1 minor scuff on the body.

Practice for the classic

Hello everyone, Saturday was a full day of practice to anyone
willing to pay the 150 dollar fee. The track had about
35 takers including InfernoMotorsports and are we glad
we went.
With the fall classic next weekend and the amount of weight
the track made all of us add to our cars and the left side %
removed by 2% our car was HORRIBLE, with so few cars
at the practice session everyone was on a first come first
serve for track time.
The InfernoMotorsports team went back and forth changing
springs, shocks and total balance of our car over and over again,
after almost 5 hours of on track for a few laps and off again
and Joe unhappy with the balance and handling we finally found
a set up that started working and the speed started going
up and the lap times started going down.
Finally after almost a hundred laps of practice we had a
happy driver and pooped out owner.
On another note, the out of towners from Irwindale
complained to the head person at the race track saying
that they needed a bigger weight break for their cars then
they are already getting because, And I Quote...
"The 9 car is running 15.7 second laps and we can not
run that fast" ..... cry babies!!! They kicked everyone's butts
last year, and ran 15.7 second laps, so, the head person at
the track said, No! well, they told the track then we will
just go home, so, the track said, let me
give you your money back...ya gotta love that !!!

Waiting for the classic

Hello everyone, InfernoMotorsports is waiting for the fall
classic, again this year we are looking forward to making
the top 16 in qualifying.
Last year Joe was the 3rd fastest late model and transfered
directly into the main event.
Once again the track has given the out of town cars a weight
break and added 100 lbs to the local cars with 2% weight
removed from our left side weight.
(I do not get it!!!) but, thats the rules so lets race .
The fall classic is sheduled for Oct 22 thru Oct 25th
with tech on wednesday, practice on thrusday, qualifying
and heat races on friday, saturday will have all the B-main
events and (A) feature races on saturday night.
InfernoMotorsports is hoping for a great weekend and looking
forward to seeing all our sponsors and friends at the races.
For all of you out of the state or country I will update you

Super Run Weekend

Wow!!! What a great weekend for all our sponsors at the
Super Run car show.
The InfernoMotorsports team members were on hand to
meet and greet fans and potential sponsor customers.

InfernoMotorsports # 9 Late Model has had the entire left side replaced and is headed to R.C. Racing decals Monday morning to wrap the entire left side that was damaged. The car will be on display at the super run car show this weekend.

The rest of my racing story

I guess I left out a few details when I raced my late model

saturday night, so, I thought I would fill you in on what

happened with a few more details.

The car looked like this

before I drove the car!!

As mentioned I did spin the car on the 1st lap of the 1st corner

on the 1st practice session, then on the 2nd session all went well.

Well, did I mention I spun in the 1st session I spun again in the

qualifing session ( I guess I did not learn the 1st time) "Bad Dad".

So, I started 15th out of 18 and we took the green flag (im happy)

smiling in the helmet so big I can hardly see the 1st turn. I am

still smiling down the back stretch when I failed to see the 16 cars

in front of me wrecking in turn 3.

(did I mention all but 2 cars were involved)

"Yes" the entire field was wrecking!!! hmm... I think it`s

time to panic stop this race car but, the car has lots and lots

of rear brake set up in the car so, around the car went

yep!! spun again, weeee (not) after crashing driver side 1st

into someone and getting rear ended at the same time I no

longer had a smile ( BUT MY EYES JUST ABOUT

POPPED OUT OF MY HEAD), holy smokes !!! what happened?

I drove into the pits Joe and the guys looked the car over and

determined we only had body damage no suspension damage.

So, back to the track (weeee) again, having fun again!!

After the race Dan from RC Racing decals (the new owner)

came by with his beautiful wife and family and looked at

his damaged wrap , smiled, and said make sure we have

the car for a few days.

Steve the designer of the wrap looked it over

and is ready to section in the damaged pieces, that is the

advantage to the wrap, they can replace and butt up to

the good section and get a exact match regardless of the

size or shape color or lines.

I damaged the entire left side, split the dash in half, crushed

the interrior sheet metal and smashed all the braces.

being replaced from my first and last time in my car.

Replacement Driver "FIRED"

Thats correct, you heard it here!!! The replacement driver
with more than 20 prior racing years behind the wheel
was fired after a horrible outing Saturday night.
I fired the driver telling him to never set foot in or near the
door opening of my race car for racing again, after I spun
the car ( oh did I say I) I mean after "the driver" spun the
car out on the first corner of the 1st lap in practice. I knew
I should not have allowed him to drive after that, he had not
raced for 18 years prior to saturday night but, I allowed
him a 2nd and 3rd chance to get it right.
Finally after "driving" the #9 Sudden Impact, RC Racing decals,
Pirates Cove Monte carlo and getting the hang of the speed
and comfortable with the tire grip, I started passing cars.
I started nearly last in the field due to a poor qualifing time.
After 15 laps of the 35 lap race I asked Joe how many more
laps are left ( it semed like I had already raced 50 laps) and
Joe came back on the radio and said 25 to go. what?
25 to go ... oxygen please!!!
On a better note I did get better at it the more laps I raced,
I started passing cars and at one point was racing in 3rd place
and right on the bumper of the 2nd place car with 2 laps to go
and attacking him like a pit bull on a chihuahua (lol) when
the ignition shut the car off down the front stretch, (at home
Sunday I found the MSD Ignition box failed)
All in all I had fulfilled a desire to race my late model, I had
the best time in years, I finished 4th in late models anyway.
Joe is "KING OF THE 9 CAR"
We have one more race to go , the big one .
The fall classic in October.

New Driver for next week

Yes it`s true, InfernoMotorsports will have a new driver
in the #9 car next Saturday night.
The driver has more than 20 years behind the wheel
and we have high expections for this driver.
Our new driver will be in the car for a 1 race deal, Quick time
and a possable new track record is expected from our driver.
Joe has been assigned to be the spotter in order for me to
determine if our car is trully faster than Joe or if Joe is given
her all she has, we dont want to name names you will need
to see if our new driver can show Joe the fast way
around or if Joe is truly "King of the 9 car"

With the fall classic coming oct 25th and the car well balanced,
we feel that the best thing for InfernoMotorsports is to wait
for the big race. InfernoMotorsports has spent 3 times it`s
racing budget for 2008 with a wrecked a car and engine
damage that nobody counted on.
With that in mind, we will keep everyone informed if we
change our minds and race the car prior to to the big race.
We are always looking for automotive product support,
racing oil and gear oil, oil filters and spray cleaners ect,
or financial support for 2009 and beyond, tell a friend or

on the race car for the remaining 2008 and all of 2009.

Joe wins our 1st in 2008

Happy days for InfernoMotorsports.

The day started out with 5th fast time in qualifing and we

were in the trophy dash passing for 4th and was spun out

by the 6th place car, who continued to push us sideways

along the front stretch, caving in the entire left side of the

car. Thanks to lots of friends pitting around us we managed

get the car ready for the main event. After looking at the

line up and saw we were going to start on the pole for the

main event, we were working hard to the the areo back.

It was cowboy night at the bullring, Hence, the cowboy hat

on the trophy for our win.

We must say thanks to all our sponsors , this took longer

than expected to get, but, we new we had the driver and

your support all along.

Finally found the problem

Well, after having overheating problems and what looked
like engine trouble last couple of weeks has been found.
It turned out to be a very small brass water fitting next
to the distributor cap that has a hair line crack.
This part is about 3 dollars and was spraying steam and
water on to the distributor cap causing a short to the
ignition system.
This only came to light this sunday a.m. when I found
traces of water deposits on the intake manifold.
The water would steam up and cause the electrical system
to short out and and act like a engine failure, and when the
system was not under power in the pits no steam or water
would show up since it would evaporate in the hot dry air
here in las vegas. While racing this fitting would expand and
leak water.
We will have the problem fixed and hope for better
performance from our Sudden Impact , R.C Racing decals,
Pirates Cove Monte Carlo next week.

Holy Crap

Friday practice went great, we were fast breaking in the
new engine and went home with high hopes for saturday.
The R.C. Decals, Sudden Impact, Pirates Cove car looks
great !! Thanks again to everyone at R.C. decals.

Saturday brought high hopes when the InfernoMotorsports
team set quick time in practice and that rolled over to
quick time for qualifing where we were quickest late model
by 9 hundreds of a second over 2nd fastest.
We started 8th in the trophy dash and finished 7th.
This was a twin main event night with Joe starting
2nd row inside, still with high expections we expected a
top 5 finish in the 33 lap event.
The field took the green flag with Joe on the back bumper
of the pole sitter going into turn 1 and was rear ended by
the car directly behind us. (not even 1 lap)
Joe was spun out and a car from the back of the field
drilled Joe on the right side bending the body, bending
the right shock, bending the lower suspension arm and
bending the frame.
Thats not all !! after fixing the the car as best as we could
at the track and getting ready for the 2nd main even
we found the engine has damage, (yep the new engine)
I spoke with the engine builder at the track and he wants
the engine back Monday a.m.
(we raced about 100 yards)
Joe did drive around for 26 laps of the 1st main event
and finished 7 laps down.

Practice friday & Race Saturday

This friday will be the 1st practice and race weekend back
from the mid season break.
Infernomotorsports will be testing friday with our rebuilt
engine and new look.
This is the first time we will be able to run this new car
at full speed with our own engine package, and after seeing
the dyno numbers we are hoping to control the wheel speed
with out having to change gears again. we expect to go fast!!!

Missed July 3rd race

Unfortunately, the Infernomotorsports race team was unable to race the 76 lap event
on July 3rd.
After sending the engine to the engine shop to find the cause of our overheating,
this is what was found.
This is the sequence of events that we felt caused major engine damage from the
crash last month.
1. The crash surged all of the water out of the engine.
2. The expansion caused the head gasket to blow out.
3. The steam left in the engine leaked moisture into the # 6 and 8
cylinders past the blown head gasket.
4. We purchased another car with the borrowed engine
so our engine sat Idle for a couple of weeks.
5. Rust built up in the # 6 and 8 cylinders , we installed
our engine and fired up our engine not knowing the
wreck damaged the engine when the rust set in.
6. The rust scared the pistons and cylinder walls
requiring a complete engine rebuild, the engine
could not be completed in time.
The InfernoMotorsports team will have the car ready the the next event august 2nd
with a fresh engine and more horsepower than before.

Lasting effects from our crash

The InfernoMotorsports, http://www.suddenimpact.com/ ,

car failed to complete 10 total laps Saturday night.
After spending thousands of dollars and countless hours
getting the borrowed engine out of the car, Installing
our engine, making a new exhuast system, it turns out
that the may 31st crash damaged the engine.
Joe took the car onto the track to shake down the car
check for leaks in 110 degree heat of the day.
After 7 laps of practice the car over heated and was
pushing water out of the over flow, we looked for
leaks, looked for blockage and after checking the
cooling system over we felt that the radiator cap may
have failed so we purchased a new one.
The team missed the 2nd session of practice and added
water to the cooled down car, we went out for qualifing
and Qualified quick time for late models. (9th over all)
Only the fastest 8 super latemodels cars would be in the
trophy dash that we just missed by 1 thousands of a second,
we had no over heating issues for this 6 lap qualifing
session.
Joe started 9th and the race went green for 3 laps then a
yellow flag came out, on the yellow lap Joe called on the
radio and said the water temp went from 200 degrees
racing to 240 in one straight away under yellow, then
to 250 on the back stretch. Joe said the car was pushing
water again, while leading late models field Joe pulled
the car off the track avoiding and further engine damage.
The engine builder was summoned to our pit and
concluded we have a blown headgasket from the
sudden loss of water in the wreck or a cracked cylinder
head from the sudden loss of water.
I will pull the engine this week and send the engine back
to Universal engine for a complete freshen up, check to
see what actualy broke and race again August 2nd.
( the track is closed after july 3rd due to heat)
We hope for better racing in the second half of the season.

attend Amys sister Jena`s wedding saturday night.

The InfernoMotorsports is a family operation and with a

Joe has great race in the new car

InfernoMotorsports applied all thier resources into purchasing
the 2006 Jackson chassis we purchased on wednesday
evening.
With only 1/2 day friday and saturday a.m. to transfer
the seat and safety equipment, balance the car
and get to the races it seemed like time was working
against us.
Together Joe, myself and the help from mike we managed
to have the car loaded ready to go at noon saturday.
After passing tech inspection with a car that has not
been thru tech in 2 years things were finally going our way.
We set the tires and pressures just like the old car and sent
Joe out for a few slow laps of practice, Joe picked up speed
as he had his first laps in this strange car.
Once Joe became comfortable with the way the cars brakes
and steering felt Joe gave it about 80 % and completed his
1st of 2 practice sessions.
Prior to session 2 we found this car was not happy with the
tire settings that the old car liked , so , we changed the settings
and sent him back out to give the car 90% and see how much
better or worse the car was based on the changes.
Joe came back after session 2 and said the car was with in 5%
of what he wanted from the car, Joe was just a little loose off
the corners.
We were now setting up the car for qualifing, with only 15 laps
under his belt Joe went 8th fast time and was in the trophy dash
for the 2nd time this year, we started 8th and finished 7th.
After the spin of the invert wheel the invert was 8 , this puts
Joe outside the front row of the main event .
Joe was the lone late model surrounded by 6 other super late
models, Joe got the jump on the green but did not hear me clear
him to the bottom of the track and the inside line passed him
down the back stretch, finally falling into line 7th behind the
super late models all went fine until we were hit from behind,
and the car that hit us spun and caused the yellow flag to fly.
The rule at this track is ANYTIME 2 cars make contact and
the yellow come out both cars go to the rear of the field.
Joe was fuming on the radio since we did not stop or even slow
down, but, the rules are the rules and we complied.
Joe was passing cars and by the time the checkerd flag flew Joe
finished 3rd in the late models. It was a great outing for Joe
he adapted quickly to a new feel and and totally different
car. At this time the car is in the garage the loaner engine is out
and our engine is going in the car for a friday night practice
and twin 35 lap feature races saturday night.

The replacement car has new home

After a serious look at our damaged car it was determined
to be repairable by the local chassis builder.
It will take some more time and money
before we can repair our car. (like this winter) I decided
to buy another car to replace the damaged one.
I have decided we will convert the damaged car into a
traveling car for 2009 and install an entire front frame
to race Irwindale speedway, we will have more options
if we choose to sell it.
This car will be the newest car Joe or I have ever owned or
raced, this car is a 2006 Jackson chassis with the other car a
1999 chassis.
The best part is that the cars were almost painted the same
blue color except for the yellow, it has the same shock package
we were already running with better updated springs.
So far we have only purchased the car with out the engine and
transmission ( $$$$) but, we are hoping to get enough
money together for the entire car as is. (I need to hold a sign
along the freeway, "will work for race car money" )
The former owner (Doug & Jan Matter) has agreed to let us
run the car with the engine in it this weekend only.

The InfernoMotorsports team was the hit of the
autograph session giving away checkerd flags,
beads and sponsor flyers.
We qualified 12th again while trying a new shock
package, we keep trying to go a little faster.
We started 12th in the main event and passed a couple
of cars and we were running 10th for 33 of the 35 laps,
when bad things happened!!!!
2 cars running in the top 10 got together coming off
turn 4 and Joe avoided one of them while the other
hit the wall, this caused him to bounce off the wall and
come down the track and hit Joe on the rt rear wheel,
this caused Joe to spin up the track hitting the front
straight wall head on, then spinning 360 degrees and
hitting the wall with the rear of the car.
Joe is sore today and will be for a couple of days,
Joe is safe thanks to his safety equipment and
he will be ready to race again as soon as the car
can be fixed. stay tuned ......

After having another week off from racing I repaired
brakes, fixed a minor oil leak and changed gears
"again", yep again! . It turned out that the caliper
did not break , it turned out to be a metal brake
line failure attached to the calipers underside.
The car is handling much better with the gear
change, we are now able to control the wheel
speed off the corners, this week we are going to
practice with two different brands of shocks to
see what set makes our fastest.

Race # 5 results

With no racing last weekend the and the
InfernoMotorsports team ready to go racing
this week, things did not go as planned.
The speedway had more cars this weekend than
any other this season. After practice Joe & I felt
that we could not control the wheel speed of our
car, after trying for 3 weeks we elected to change
gears after qualifing. We qualified 12th and the
line up inversion pill that was pulled was a 50/50
pill , this puts 1/2 of the field of cars inverted,
since we were 12th we started on the pole of
the feature.
After the green flag Joe was running in well with
the new gear change, the car handled much better
off the corners and we were as fast as the super late
models. Running 2nd and the fastest superlate
models coming thru the field of late models , Joe
yelled on the radio (NO BRAKES!!!) Joe then pulled
out of the racing line allowed the field to pass until
we could get to the inside and out of harms way, after
I finally cleared him we were off the track in the infield
with the engine off and Joe unable to stop the car he
had to drive in little circles until the car came to a stop
on it`s own. After the race we were towed to the trailer
where we looked over the car and we found that the
right front brake caliper broke causing the brake failure.
No racing again next week, this will give us time to
call Sierra brakes get the part replaced without
rushing the parts in.
We finished 24th.
On a much better Note the InfernoMotorsports team
has secured a new sponsor, King carpet cleaning
they will be on the car for the rest of the 2008 season.

Race #4 results

With no test session friday night the InfernoMotorsports
team took the car into the garage early saturday a.m.
Joe and I reset and measured the entire cars suspension
front and rear, checked every angle and changed
most of the front suspension angles.
We showed up at the track ready to see how the
changes would make the car handle.
After the 1st practice Joe was still getting too much
wheel speed off the corners, making the car loose
on exit.
We made changes and send him out for session #
2, after practice he felt the car was better but, He
was still not happy with the forward drive of the car,
we were still spinning the tires off the corner.
With practice over and qualifing getting set we
adjusted the rear axle, moving the rt rear back
to help the car thru the corner, well, as it turned
out we never got a chance to see of it helped until
the main event, and heres why!!!
During our qualifing group one of the cars
was leaking oil on the track for the entire session
and the officals did not see it, we complained and
they cleaned the track, they allowed us to go back
out and qualify with the next group, but, they did
such a horrible job cleaning the track eveyone in
this group was still sliding around.
We ended up qualifing 12th out of 19, horrible!
Main event had us staring 12th in the field of 18
cars now , since the car that leaked oil went home
with a blown engine.
On the green flag joe fell into the 10th spot after
lap one, Joe stayed there for the 1st half of the 30
lap race, with a couple of cautions and 2 cars in
front of us wrecking we moved to 8th until lap
25 when Joe passed for 7th and pulled away
closing in on 6th but not enough laps left to get
by we finshed 7th overall and 3rd in class.

After saturdays race and repairing the car at the
race track, I took the race car to Performance Plus
where Mario allowed me to use his heavy duty
welder again.
With these great friends I have met and support
I recieve, I want to thank them again and again.
I enjoy the beers we all share and bench racing
we do, and the lies you tell. (lol)

2nd Again

The Infermomotorsports team finshed 2nd
again this week, we passed tech with a legal
spoiler, proving it was not the spoilers extra
1/2 inch that made the difference!

This week was the 1st race of the combined
super late models & late models being scored
as 2 different classes. With the supers not having
enough cars to fill a entire field , the track
decided to combine the 2 classes, this gave the
fans a full field of cars that look the
same, but are not, so...here's how the night went:

Practice went fine with Joe wanting changes in
all 3 practice sessions,
we had to qualify for the 1st time under the new
format just like the super lates do.
Joe qulaified 7th fastest and was the fastest
reqular late model and was scheduled to start
on the front row of the trophy dash.
Joe came into the pits saying something broke
on the car on the rear, We inspected the car and
found the entire rear upper suspension mount
was torn off the frame, needless to say we could
not make the trophy dash, I reset the suspension
mounts, welded the frame, added additional
support braces and finished just after the dash
was over.
We were still scored 8th in the dash, even though
we did not start, that put us outside the front row
of the main event. On the green flag we were passed
by the 1st 4 rows of cars on the inside before falling
in line 5th behind the super lates, we were leading the
late model class for 17 of the 30 lap race, but, with
some yellow flags and just 1 car a little faster
than us we finished 2nd in our class and 7th overall.

# 9 Disqualified

The InfernoMotorsports car was disqualified
saturday night following post race inspection.
The car was found to have too large of a rear
spoiler by 1/2 of a inch, the car was measured
for spoiler size a number of times last year and
was never found or mentioned to be the wrong
size. I have to take the blame for this DQ, since
it`s my job to be sure my car meets the rules
even if the officals never mentioned it.
The 2nd thing they found was our 15 year old
carburetor that was inspected a number of times
was found to be illegal and was confiscated. On
this matter I felt that if the carburetor was legal every
other time, why not this time?.
As of Monday A.M. a new racing carburetor will be ordered
and will be the same make and type run by the others in
our division. The rear spoiler will be replaced and the
car will be correct.
I would like to apologize to all my sponsors and family
for the error.
On a more positive note I must mention that Joe did
a Great job driving a poor handling race car and finishing
2nd. We will be back!! stay tuned .....

Gear change coming

After a conversation with Jim O`hanley from
O`hanleys 9 inch rear ends, we have agreed
to do another gear change for this weekend.
Jim provides the state of the art rear gears
for the InfernoMotorsports Late Model,
the decision has been made to see if we can
get more speed from the car off the corners.
InfernoMotorsports will test again this Friday,
with racing Saturday night. stay tuned........

Race # 2 completed

The weekends practice and race night started out poorly.
Friday night during the 1st practice session we completed
a 10 lap run only to hear a horrific noise comming from
the car, the noise turned out to be the starter flex plate
it was broken in 2 pieces.
Needless to say practice was over before it started.
I went to the speed shop saturday A.M. purchased
the replacement part, arrived back home and together
Joe and I installed the new part.
During the afternoon hot laps and practice the car
ran fine but, Joe was asking for the car to be tighter
off the corner the car wanted to spin out off the corner.
The heat race had 2 cars get together and debris
was on the track and somehow we picked up some
and had a slow leak so when the green flag came
back out Joe went into the 1st turn and the car
would not turn.... we are done for that race, back
to the pits we go with only a couple of laps run.
We replaced the tire and had to wait for the main
where we started Dead last... yep dead last!!
Main Event time:
With nothing behind us but air,we starting the main
waiting to see if how field would get thru turn 1
and the go racing, we passed 2 or 3 cars on the
first lap, then some cautions , the green again passing
more cars a few laps later and some more cautions,
finally some racing laps!!! when Joe complained about
the loose problem again, He said he could not get on the
gas pedal as soon as he wanted and it was not helping
the speed of the car getting into the next corner.
after getting up to 6th place the car was just too
loose to pass the top 5 cars so, thats where we finished
6th place for us on race night # 2, thats all we had.

Opening day completed

Finally, after waiting months to go racing the InfernoMotorsports
team had a good weekend that started out less than steller.
Friday nights tire scrub and last chance test ended early with
the entire left upper suspension mount shearing off, damaging
the shock mount, our car required repairs late into the night.
Thanks to good friends Mario of Performance Plus in
Henderson and Phil from Pickarts Radiator in Henderson,
Mario opened his shop to us at midnight and let us use all of
his heavy equipment to put the car back together with help
from Phil...... Thanks again guys........now on to Saturdays race.

The starting line up for the heat races were done by pea picking,
Amy, Joe`s wife, went to pick the pea for our team and drew
last spot in the 1st heat race ... no more picking for Amy...lol
The 10 lap heat race had Joe moving up thru the field thanks
to some timely caution flags allowing us to close in on the
leader, with 5 of the 10 laps gone we were running 3rd from
the 8th starting spot when Joe passed for 2nd, the leader was
6 to 8 car lengths ahead with 2 laps to go and Joe closing in
on the leader..... now with 1 to go and Joe on the back
bumper of the leader, they go into turn one nose to tail,
off turn 2 and down the back stretch in to turn 3,
the leader slips just a little off turn 4 they are headed for the
checkered flag side by side ...and.... the electronic scoring says......
Joe finished 2nd by what looked like inches!!!!!

Main Event Time: The line up showed we were to start
6th ... we still dont know how we got that starting position??
We should have started 4th, but, oh well, lets go racing!!!
Starting 8th and the green comes out Joe gets in line 6th and
we are just waiting for the tires to come up to full temp and
staying in line for the first 10 laps of the 25 lap feature event.
The race had a few caution laps with the leader running off
with the race, Joe now running 5th and no place to pass this
very competive field of cars, finally with 4 laps to go Joe gets
into 4th place and thats the best we had for them tonight.
We almost had a 3rd, just short by one car lenght at the finish.

DISQUALIFIED THE WINNER: Post race tech found the
winner was running unapproved shocks and springs and
was disqualified moving everyone up 1 spot. We got 3rd .
Racing again next week ... stay tuned ...........

Testing friday Night

The last pre season test prior to opening day.
InfernoMotorsports is scrubbing In 2 sets
of new tires on the friday night test for Saturday.
This test takes place in actual race conditions,
the actual racing takes place in the evening and
this session of practice is during the evening.
Saturday a.m. is an important day for Joseph
he will be shooting photos with his sponsor
Jose at Sudden Impact Auto Body.

Successful Test completed

Todays test session went very well, Joe was very happy with the way the car handled and the changes made.
Arriving at the track at 8am ready to test the car and get a balance and basic set up.
Session 1 .
Joe took to the track to break in the new Sierra brake pads and warm up all the fluids in the car and ran about 1/2 speed.
Session 2. Joe went onto the track complained on the radio NO FUEL PRESSURE only 3 lbs , I assured him the car had fuel (I was sure of it) oops
"I WAS WRONG" I failed to add fuel, so , this session was missed..... Bad Dad!!!
Session 3. "With fuel in the car" Joe took to the track ready to now run the car at 95% with the air and track temp going up the car was doing fine but a little too much rear brake was causing the car to get loose into the corner and the brake adjusting cable broke leaving the driver to finish with a unbalanced brake setting .
Session 4. With the brake problem repaired and the track surface temp getting hotter we were back on the track with a Happy Driver and the car at full power running laps at 98 % and joe saying the car was loose off the corners this time, but, much happier, back to the pits for changes.
Session 5. With chassis changes made to correct the car we were back on the track for 100% speed run, "IT WAS FAST" the driver could be seen with a grin on his face thru the helmet, the car responded to the chassis changes, the engine ran perfect and the car came into balance just great.
With no reason to run additional laps on the car in the heat of the day we put the car away and will test again in the evening next friday. stay tuned ......... racing next saturday .

No Practice

Well.... after waiting to get the season underway and rushing the car to RC Racing decals getting the car lettered and the graphics installed the speedway decided to cancel practice due to a conflict at the speedway.
The speedway sent out a e-mail telling everyone that only 1 all day practice is scheduled next saturday prior to the season opener March 29th, stay tuned to see how practice went.
With only 1 practice for everyone this may be to our advantage since most other teams would have practiced both wekends and we were only scheduled to practice today.
Joe was going to be off work today to practice but was able to change his schedule at the last minute and get off next saturday instead.
Thanks to the people and his bosses at the Richard Petty driving experience we will not miss practice all together.

InfernoMotorsports has arrived !!!!
InfernoMotorsports is ready for the 2008 Late model season to get under way.

2008 will be our 1st chance to run for the championship and
this season will be the last year for the late model division at the bullring,
InfernoMotorsports goal is to be the 2008 late model champions and
close out this division.

2008 will allow our driver Joe Deguevara to race for the entire 2008 season
with Joe now working for the Richard Petty driving experience as Director
of Chassis Setup/Lead Mechanic.

The InfernoMotorsports team will compete in Las Vegas at
the Bullring and make at least 2 trips out of Nevada during the
2008 season to Colorado and Arizona for additional sponsor exposure.

The InfernoMotorsports team has a new website coming later this
month with photos, sponsor links and racing news to complement
this blog so sponsors and team product support companys
can recieve as much exposure as possable.
